Brief Description

Our Medical center is a comprehensive, acute care medical center with a combined 224 inpatient beds; 78 devoted to behavioral health and 146 distributed among medicine, surgery and critical care. This campus also includes our Research Office Building which and the Pittsburgh Fisher House, a 10-suite home-away-from-home for loved ones of inpatients. Our $27.6 million dollar Research space was recently activated in 2013 and supports over 330 active research projects as well as VA Research Centers of Excellence (Human Engineering Research Laboratories; Mental Illness Research, Education and Clinical Center; Geriatric Research, Education and Clinical Center; and the Center for Health Equity Research and Promotion). The building houses 15,000 sq feet of wet lab space as well as over 6,000 sq ft of dedicated clinical trial space.
