Brief Description
The Philadelphia Research and Education Foundation (PREF), established in 2000 is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit corporation that supports the research and education missions of the Corporal Michael J. Crescenz VA Medical Center (CMC VAMC).
The CMC VA:
- Is compliant with the Association for Human Research Protection Program (AAHRPP)
- Has over 275 active research studies
- Has over 100 PI’s
- Has an animal research facility (under renovation)
- Has a Regional Sleep Center
- Has a multi disciplinary program comprised of 60,000 sq. ft of laboratory space
- Has a Parkinson’s Disease Research, Education and Clinical Center (PADRECC)
- Has a Mental Illness Research Education and Clinical Center (MIRECC)
- Has a Center for Health Equity Research and Promotion (CHERP)
- Has a Center of Excellence for Substance Abuse Treatment and Education (CESATE)
- Has a Clinical Trials Center
