Brief Description

The Cleveland VA Medical Research and Education Foundation is home to a variety of investigational and educational professionals. Our program is comprised of research in biomedical, health services and rehabilitation, as well as clinical and cooperative studies. The Cleveland VA is home to two VA-funded Rehabilitation Research and Development centers: the Advanced Platform Technology (APT) Center and the Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) Center. The Medical Center has full accreditation from the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs (AAHRPP ). The Cleveland VA academic affiliates includes Case Western Reserve University and Cleveland Clinic Foundation.

Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center is the 3rd largest VA medical centers in the country and offers a full range of primary, secondary and tertiary care services to an eligible Veteran population covering 24 counties in Northeast Ohio. Care is provided to more than 110,000 Veterans each year through an inpatient tertiary care facility (Wade Park), 13 Multi-Specialty Clinics, Vet Centers, and numerous community-based contract nursing homes. The Wade Park Campus is classified as a Level 1 medical facility and has received a 5-star rating for the past five years.
